“School’s Out, School’s Out!”
Yesterday was the last day of school for Tyler!
I truly cannot believe it was the last day of 1st grade, this year sure has flown by!
To celebrate we took Tyler to Starbucks this morning for special milk and a muffin. I actually did have him eat some Kashi cereal before we left just to be sure he a good start to his morning.
He is such a giggle box!

(FYI – Tyler grabbed my flip cam the other night and decided this is what he wanted to do for you to help you get ideas for your kids.)

This day also marks the official start to my my summer routine!
As a Busy Mom I need to take a step back and see how the end of school affects our normal work and family routine since both me and my husband work from home.
I now need to revamp my morning schedule for there is about 90 minutes of time that had been devoted to getting Tyler ready and taking him to school. Then there is about 60 minutes spent traveling to bring him back home.
In all told, I now have an additional 2 and a half hours to schedule back into my day – BUT must also consider that Tyler is now home and I will not be able to sit myself in front of my computer all day long.
To help create a fun and productive summer schedule, Tyler, Patrick and I have sat down to map out ideas for the time we spend working and playing.
Tyler has made it clear that will be a trip to the beach and a trip to Boston to see the Red Sox. Our daily Tyler schedule includes structured times, walks to the nearby park and pool and lots of free play. Still looking to see if there are any summer sports camps he would like to take part in.
What a tremendous help this is for now I know what to expect (and so does Tyler) so everyone’s time is respected and well spent.
I am looking forward to a summer filled with fun memories and I encourage you to do the same!

Holly

Thanks Tyler ~ We work from home too and we have 5 kids who are now home for the summer and I’m always looking for healthy snacks for them. Ask your mom which healthy snacks she thinks would be the most cost effective for our large family … and thanks again for the “tour” of your snacks. *SmiLes* Suzanne
Thank you for the video. Tyler is a cutie! I am always looking for snack ideas for my kids. My daughter is just a little bit overweight and it is hard getting her to eat right. I try not to have bad stuff in the house but my husband just wants what he wants and I have to keep his stuff too which she gets into. Any more ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Did Tyler grow 6″ over the year?! He has gotten so tall!
Thanks for the great tips Tyler. I am going to show them to Bryce, Ian and Sean. They need a little wisdom from a bright 7 yr old!
cute video.
We are all home this summer and we have already been talking about snacks for all of us. Thanks for the trip through your snack drawer, we have some of the same.
Thank you so much, Tyler, for the great snack ideas for my children. We are really trying to go through our snacks and make sure they are healthy too. Thank you.
I can’t believe that you guys are out of school already. My daughter is in school for another 3 weeks.
Awesome video, good job for helping out Tyler! It was fun to see similar snacks, like the organic Stretch Island fruit snack
I think it’s great, Mrs. Holly, that you are teaching him well.
Hi, Tyler!
Your excellent video tour of your snack drawer and the things in it was very helpful! My daughter, Janie, who is also a Fit Yummy Mummy, has three children, who are 7, 5 and 2. Her children are my grandchildren! Janie has a shelf in her pantry that is devoted to healthy snacks for the children. The shelf is at their eye level, so, with permission, they can go into the pantry and pick out whatever snack they want. Your video will give Janie some good ideas of some new things to get for her snack shelf! Thank you for making such a good video, so everyone can learn about healthly snacks!
