I’ve finally taken action and started working on my goals for 2009.
Yes – Taking action and getting results that I need.
I too have setbacks.
::About 3 weeks ago we were packing up to move
:: 2 weeks ago we moved in
::Then last week the winter storm hit BAD
::Tyler was out of school for a good week
::Friends were staying with us for they had no power
I really struggled to find a way to get motivated, to get focused and to get back into my routine.
So yesterday I decided to stop letting unexpected events stand in my way.
I was tired of how this affected my mood and my ability to get work completed. Waiting for the right time to begin seemed downright silly!
I recruited my husband to join me and made an appointment to meet with my new kettlebell instructor yesterday afternoon.
Wow was this ever an eye opening experience!
Not only did I realize how much more I can challenge myself but it was sure different to be the student again!
Yes, I was super excited to begin as I envisioned all the new results I was about to achieve. Main goals were to improve strength – to look bad a** swing a super heavy kettlebell around.
There are so many cool and challenging moves.

Then it hit me!
As class began, I had a twinge of doubt.
~ What if I cannot do some of these challenging moves?
~Oh NO – I’ve been doing this all wrong!
~ What if I get frustrated after practicing and I still can’t get it right?
~ What if I cannot keep up with everyone around me?
~ What if I try and fail?
Yes, I have these thoughts too.
But then I took a deep breath and reminded myself that its okay to take this one step at a time.
I am SO finished with the obstacles- the justifications – the excuses.
The path leads to zero results.
To do this right and to be able to reach my goals, I must ….
- take the time to learn the technique- down to the smallest details
– have patience as I take on the challenge of something new
- And I have to practice over and over again ….not to be perfect…but to get to a place where I feel confident in what I am doing so I have the ability to refine.
I suddenly no longer felt alone…
