My goal for this year is size 6 by summer. I am a size 10 now. The main way I will get there is to make sure that my nutrition is more supportive. I have just realized that I have a problem with wheat and dairy so I will be cutting them waaay down or all the way out. The biggest problem I have is eating out when we go to town to shop. Since we live so far away and shopping takes so long we usually eat out. In the spring/summer we could pack a picnic meal and eat at the park, but not sure what to do in winter. Lots of times I can pack stuff to bring with but no one wants to sit in the car and eat and sometimes my husband really prefers to eat out.

The hardest thing for me is going to be breaking my very bad habit of snacking on dark chocolate chips. I suppose it’s better than my old Hershey’s kisses snacking habit :) , but I eat way too much of them. I eat them when I’m bored, at night when I’m reading or on the internet, in the car when I need a snack… Way too often! They just make me feel good! But I think, if I could break the habit, I would finally lose the last few pounds I want to lose. Any tips on how to break this habit would be much appreciated!!!
    Thanks!

My goal is to get into a size 6! I’m a 12 right now (I had a baby 6 months ago and haven’t done any major exercise since). I’m going to achieve this by eating healthy (and eliminating wheat), eating more protein/healthy fats and less “fake foods.” I have also begun to exercise (strength training, circuit). The hardest part will definitely be not caving in and eating junk food when I’m tired or feeling as if my progress is not coming fast enough. My hubby is very supportive though, so I hope to achieve this May, Happy NY everyone, and good luck!

I want to take my life back and need to lose 35lbs. I feel I can do your 15 min w/o. I get the gym for free and I still don’t go. I will go to blog and look for DVD’s to order. I do not want to down load a book. The girls with testaments look like me and I am 58 yrs and am way too young to look like this. Thanks Sherri

I am wondering how to eat healthy through the drive-through and at McDonald’s. I often take my kids to the playplace during the winter. Tips?

Also, whenever I diet, I am so hungry. How do you avoid this?

I’ve really been struggling with maintaining my weight. I have gained 15 lbs since turning 40. I lost 10 but it has slowly been creaping back up and I’m back to where I started. Now that I am 50, I find it really difficult, even with cutting back on carbs and following interval training tips from you and TT, I cannot seem to get rid of that thick menopot!! Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated! Thanks Holly.

I would really like to tone up, and hit a size 6 (dare I hope for a 4?). I am currently an 8 and am not terribly overweight but would love to be toned. I usually go to jazzercise 3-4 times a week, which is good for cardio and strength, and I’ve begun doing several of the strength exercises you’ve posted. I feel like without an instructor in front of me I don’t work as hard at home. I love the eating more frequently, and am eating healthier because of it!! If you could work more wine into the eating plan that would be perfect!!

    Hi!

I need tips to stay motivated and not get lazy. I know what I need to do, I have what I need… yet when a workout gets challenging, it can put me off working out the next time I need to. I’ve only just started out on my weight loss journey, yet I can’t seem to stay focused. Help!

My biggest problem is keeping motivation when depression sinks in. Money worries or not seeing results on the scales from my hard work and it seems to get harder and harder to get myself moving. I love eating clean healthy foods and rarely buy processed junk but I’m sometimes lost to portion sizes.

    Hi Holly,
Happy New Year to you and the family.
It’s quite simple for me all you need to do is give me a swift kick up the bum……. get off my lazy back side and get moving. I need to not feel selfish about spending time on myself…… I think this is a huge problem for me!

    Happy New Year!

I have a BIG motivation problem. I know everything I need to do, but just can’t seem to find the best time to do it. I keep thinking I will set the alarm 30 minutes earlier, but so far, all I’ve done is hit the snooze. Lunchtime doesn’t seem to work out consistently and evening seems pushed. I have a friend and we are trying to get together twice a week but she is so morbidly overweight that I’m not getting challenged at all with our workouts and she can’t do any more than she’s doing. The workout is the hardest thing for me. The food thing is going pretty well and I have lots of support at home with that. I want sooooo bad to be down at least two sizes by spring!

    Hi Holly,

new to your plan. Never had to watch my weight or diet until I had my son and hit 40 all in one go, putting on around 14 pounds. I have tried cutting down to no effect – never knew it was so hard to loose weight. My major problem is fitting exercise into busy working day and still have time for my family. My son also loves baking – it’s impossible to not share the sweet delights!

I want to be a size 8 (currently a 12). I need to workout consistently and I need to eat supportive meals consistently. My biggest challenge is staying on top of my nutrition. I’m not the greatest at organizing my meals and when life gets busy the planning goes out the door and I grab what I can when I can. My other challenge is to replace reaching for food when I’m tired at the end of the day. I can have the best day when it comes to eating supportive foods and blow all my hard work away at the end of the day when I’m tired but I don’t have time to rest because I need to take care of the family, so I end of fighting the fatigue with food. It’s really frustrating!

    Hey Holly.
What do I want out of the year 2010? Quite simply, the “best version” of myself that I can be! How can you help me? Keep on doing what you are doing!! You provide training advice, inspiration, and motivation through Club FYM! Thank you for being you!

    Have a wonderful New Year!

Oh, the biggest question ever. . .what will it take for me to “stick” to my plan???? To have faith in myself. . .to feel that I deserve that time for me and not give in to the husband, kids, the job and the easy lifestyle. Like so many others – I need to see results. And for added bonsus – you come and be my personal “kick my butt & educate me” for about two weeks! I say 2 because I’m a needy person. . I would prefer a month but I couldn’t do that to you, nor your family. :-)

    Hi Holly-

I yo yo between a 14 and 12…mostly a 12. I would like to at least make it to a size 6 and then a 4 if I make it that far. I am a stay at home mom and I am constantly doing things as far as cleaning up and down 3 floors and chasing 3 children. After doing this all day I seem so mentally and physically exhausted that all I want to do is relax with a book or movie, answer email, or just go to bed. There are days I get motivated to work out and I actually do it for a week or two, but then I become so sore…and for days be sore…that I get lazy and dont want to feel that pain anymore. I do want to have more energy to keep up with my kids because it is turning into a chore and I am not enjoying it like I should be. I do like to meat, veges, eggs, yogart, salmon and crab legs. I do think I need to cut out eating bread. I love to drink milk and water. I do have a problem with drinking on the weekend a little to much. I like rum and diet coke or diet 7up. Any advice for me?? I need some help somewhere.

    Hey Holly! Happy New Year!

Thank you so much for all you do for us! I’m pretty happy with the way I’m progressing using Club FYM… my major resolution this year is to reduce stress so I can be kinder to my family! I mainly need help with time management (so I’m not chasing my tail all the time) and relaxation techniques. Any recommendations?

Love your work, you ROCK! :-)

    Happy New Year Holly!

I can relate to Diane who mentioned the menopot belly. Never heard the term before–great description. I have got that plus a few extra inches in the waist that I would like to get rid of. I need to make more time for and get motivated to exercise early in the morning before doing anything else. I did finally create a DVD of video exercise clips–a number of yours included–that will help with motivation and variety. I do have a problem with a late night craving for Black Panther bar chocolate (3 squares) and a small Black Russian drink. Helps me fall asleep and I need that help often. Still don’t know what to do when I am tossing and turning and stressed because I have to get up at 5am.

    Hi Holly,

I have learned in the past two transformations how to be consistent with my workouts, and supportive eating. I have a problem with portion sizes and even more importantly, and I have set this as a goal, to lower my intake of complex carbs to up to lunch. I succeeded in taking sugar out of my the equation but lowering my intake of carbs seems impossible. I noticed that you hardly eat complex carbs…how do you do this? Not only is this something I need to do so I can reach my “looking good” goals but I am borderline diabetes and I have to do something about this if I don’t want to go on medication eventually. Please help!

I’m great at packing meals for work and appropriate snacks, but when I am home or stressed and overwhelmed I don’t continue the whole day with proper nutrition. I have one week on one week off type of setbacks and its very aggravating.

    Thanks Holly

    Hey Holly Happy New Year!
My goal this year is to get down to a size 6 I am a 9 right now.
I’m not having problems so much with the workouts or getting motivated, but eating healthy supportive meals and meal planning are my struggles.
Putting together the right foods to maximize my weight loss goals. Organized is not one of my strengths.
Having said that i’ve just outlined my second goal for this year. I’m still trying to master shopping from a list, But my biggest challenge is planning meals for the week. This is where I lack creativity.
Looking forward to reading more tips.
    Thanks Holly,
    Lynn

I HAVE to get rid of this fat belly!! lol I just feel miserable and after looking at my holiday pictures, WOW is all I can say. I joined Club FYM in June of 2009 and I have lost about 5 inches off my belly i think and I have lost about 15 pounds. Better something than nothing at all, as Holly says.
This week I have made myself a daily schedule that begins with wake up and carries me all the way through workouts, snacks, when to start dinner, etc.
This has held me back for too long. I have set a bedtime for myself of midnight and I need to wake up at 8am. Perfect.
I love the new workout of the month and the soundtrack. Thanks Holly, your constant support has kept me motivated. Even though I don’t communicate much in the forums, the email alerts are very motivating.

Happy New Year! I’ve been using your DVDs and they’re great—-but I’m wondering when I should increase my weights. Right now I’m using 10lbs,15lbs, 20lbs and 25lbs. My goal is to get stronger, but when do I know it’s time to increase. Also, I am afraid of injuring myself if the weights are too heavy. Holly, is there a formula that I should used on what is the right weights one should use. Help! I want to get strong and feel like I’m getting something out of my workouts without hurting myself. Thanks for everything.
