1. Believe the answer to Fat Loss lies in CARDIO
Can’t blame you.
The fact that we are being bombarded with ads and articles on a daily basis boasting the best way to burn fat is to DO more cardio – the more cardio you do…the more calories you burn – right?

2. Super Scared of “Bulking Up”
Just the mention of the word muscle makes many women cringe. Images of huge bodybuilder, hulk-type bodies make them run far far away from using any type of challenging weight. This is a MYTH…women simply do not have the ability to bulk up.
Men on the other hand are able to add lots of muscle because:
One – they have the hormones to do so (we do not)
Two – they lift weights in an entirely different fashion
Three – they must eat a tremendous amount of food… in order for muscle to grow in noticeable size your body needs a LOT of calories to get big.
Oh and the ladies who DO seek out a career as a professional bodybuilder are training MUCH differently than women who are just seeking Fat Loss (and they tend to have help from a variety of supplements).
So Ladies…unless you are taking Testosterone boosting supplements, lifting VERY heavy weights, setting a goal with your workouts TO get bulky and eating about 5,000 calories a day – you will NOT bulk up.
Even guys who want to get big have trouble and must make a concerted effort to look like this.
(One last time – NO you will not BULK up and if you try to tell me the last time you tried resistance training you did…..let me just guess that you did not also clean up your nutrition plan and you did not give your workouts a chance to work for you – like spending less than 4-6 weeks being consistent with your full fitness plan)
3. Resistance Training is TOO Dang Complicated!!!
Super sets, circuits, reps, rests, weights, what do you mean I have to change it every 3-4 weeks??? How?
It’s so much easier to just jump on a treadmill and walk or run for 45 minutes. That’s nice and all, but easy does not get you body shaping results! Especially if your “mode of exercise” lacks the ability to make you stronger!
Sure if you are new to the concept of Resistance Training, a little research can make you throw your hands up in frustration.
The best way to begin resistance training is to use your own body as weight. No gym membership, no fancy equipment….just a small space and a few minutes of your time.

All you need is a couple dumbbells, a stability ball and a mat!
As always…If you are new to resistance training (as always please consult your DR – especially if you have any existing/pre-existing injuries, I am unable to assess you online) then I suggest you just start out doing these moves withOUT weight – trust me – you will feel the effects – as should be result of ANY challenging resistance training workout plan you follow.

That is a great workout, and I like how you show the range of weights to use. you are absolutely right about having to change your diet because I’ve been following your workouts but didn’t change much in my diet, even though I eat healthy food, I was eating way to much. I’ve adjusted that and have lost 10 lbs. and can’t wait to lose another 30 lbs to be able to see all that muscle definition I’ve built up!
The weight is coming off slowly, but I’m hoping that is because the muscle is weighing more than the fat. My clothes are very loose and I can tell a big difference.
