Starting Over....Post Pregnancy Weight Loss, Again?

Post Pregnancy Weight Loss is just one of the things many of us have to start over again.

It is typical to come across a number of blog posts and messages on Mondays that express a degree of disappointment and frustration.

Monday seems to be a day when we feel we have a chance to start over.

Sickness, injury, PMS, family get-togethers, vacations, moving, unforseen events, post pregnancy weight loss change in work schedule, back to school season, no results, a case of missing motivation, etc.

It happens….and it happens to every one of us.
So please do not ever believe you are alone.

Starting over is a fact of life.

So let’s see how we can turn this into something Positive that can actually Benefit you, instead of feeling like it just works against you.

Consider this cool Set Back Fact:

Each time you overcome a set back, you have the opportunity to learn more about YOU.

A great place to be for the more you know about YOU…..the more awareness and control you have over your thoughts, behaviors and actions.

Michelle started a great post at ClubFYM in regards to this.

Words determine thought => Thoughts determine feelings => Feelings determine actions =>Actions determine habits.

Watch your thoughts, they become words.
Watch your words, they become actions.
Watch your actions, they become your habits.
Watch your habits, they become your character.
Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.
~ Frank Outlaw

Set Backs are Stepping Stones….not anchors.

You can overcome each and every setback – keeping you moving on the path to self-improvement.

New lessons
New insight
New motivation
New appreciation

You can more effectively manage your “restarts” by embracing that this is a Life Long journey. Setbacks and restarts are bound to happen – this is not an aspect of your life that you can
Minimize the effect by:
~ giving up the “all-or-nothing” mentality
~ get better at forgiving yourself
~ taking time to reflect

This last one is super important.

How can we ever learn from these experiences – learning that will take
us down a much more successful path – if we do not take the time to
look back at whatever happened and ask ourselves….

“What could I have done differently?”

Getting Back on Track

If you can make the effort to engage in negative self talk, choose to not workout, choose to indulge in a few more “cheats” – and yes, this does take effort -then you have the ability and the power to choose differently.

Action Steps:
Just three…so take them today.

1 ~ Goals

Take the time to write out your goal. Determine what it is you want and most importantly – WHY you want it. Members of ClubFYM – If you have not yet posted your goals on your blog – do so asap.
If you already have taken this step- Review them and reconnect with the emotions of WHY you are doing all of this in the 1st place.

Take it one step further and make a Vision Board.

2 ~ Blog Your Experience

How freeing it is to post your thoughts and feelings about your set backs.
There is something VERY powerful in the written word.
Plus, the amount of support you receive is incredibly motivation and empowering. You have access to one of the most unique support groups around….do not be hesitant to put this resource to use for you.

3 ~ Forgive Yourself

As mentioned above, you cannot move on if you are holding on to dis-empowering emotions.
