Post Baby Belly – The Most Important Inch. A post by Holly Rigsby
“Guess what!? I was admiring how my post baby belly is changing this morning.
I was looking at my hips and abs and stomach and neck. Noticing how there are now indents in certain areas where there are (supposed to be) landmarks.
My stomach is tightening up and my arms are shaping up so nicely. So I thought, OK let’s measure.
I’ve lost somewhere between 1/2 and inch and an inch in my stomach area (top and bottom)!!!
This is fantastic. I cannot tell you how hard that has been for me to see changes in the post baby belly area.
PS. my weight is the same and I just don’t care.
What does it matter. I’m strong. I am building strong, lean muscle and it is paying off!
I cannot believe how great I feel and it’s only been an inch.
Imagine how I’ll feel when it’s two inches!
My pants are looser, and my abs are tighter. YA!”

i’m so happy for you. i have been experiencing the same thing..
Well, I have lost a grand total of almost 16-1/2 inches in 10 weeks. (on “good” days it’s closer to 17″). I’ve lost 3-1/2″ in my bust, 5″ in my waist, 3-1/2″ in my hips, 1/2″ in my arms and 4″ in my thighs. I cannot say enough about the Fit Yummy Mummy program. It’s awesome and it WORKS.
The most frustrating part of my body is my stomach, no doubt. It is where I need to lose the most inches. I have had 3 children and 3 c-sections–which means my stomach has been taken apart and put back together (all 7 layers of skin, fat, muscles and uterus) THREE times. Then add to that the weight gain. It is definitely not like it used to be, to say the very least! I used to only have fat in my lower abdomen…not it’s all over, like a huge vertical rectangle of fat that sticks straight out. And it seems it is always the last to go. Although I have lost 5 in. in my natural waistline (I don’t even attempt to measure the “mommy belly” because I don’t want to get discouraged), I still have quite a ways to go with my stomach (I’d like to lose at least 7 more inches in my waistline). However, what I am seeing is a major difference in my abdomen each time I change my workouts and progress to the next session. Since I’ve been doing the Intermediate workouts, I have seen the most difference. The toe-touches, Spiderman Crawls, and Advanced Mountain Climbers are the BOMB!! I also liked the Belly Blaster in the Beginner workouts.
As far as nutrition-wise goes, to help w/the fat loss in my stomach area, I have eliminated bread (except for the occasional slice of Ezekiel bread toast w/my breakfast) and pasta (except for the occasional high-fiber, lower-glycemic kind–maybe once every 2 or 3 wks.). I only eat sugar w/the occasional cheat…except my morning coffee, in which I use 1 teaspoon of turbinado sugar.
I’m having an easier time losing in my thighs (don’t know why…maybe it’s the large muscle group)…although my upper thighs, between my legs, is going SLOWLY. Which means I need to be doing something to tone that area, I guess!
My arms, for some reason, are not going down quite as much as I thought they would, as years ago, that was the very first place I would tone up! I know I have major biceps under the fat, so also may be a reason I’m not seeing too much of a change…except more definition, of course! My body has definitely changed the older I’ve gotten, as far as fat loss and what goes FIRST!
If you’ve got any suggestions as to my inner thighs, I would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks for ALL you do!!!!!
My most important inch has been my waist. I am dreaming of my tiny 26″ waist again. During the first weeks, I lost noticeable inches fast in my waist! Now it seems to be my thighs that are losing inches. I don’t care, any inch lost on my body is a an inch I am excited to see leave.
I’m really pleased for you. Its inspiring to read stories like yours. It makes me think I have to carry on. Like you I have changed shape. No idea how many inches Ive lost but I still weigh the same. Good on you! Keep going & Good luck
