The Consequences of Living in Compression Crops all Winter

What the Crop!?!?

I have a confession to make


After living in leggins, stretchy skinny jeans and compression crops this winter, I lost track of my body shaping goals. While I was able to maintain my strength levels I put on a couple pounds. Upon reflecting, I now realize I did not have a way measure and check in to see if I was maintaining other aspects and my attire sure did not help.

 

It was this past weekend when I was getting ready to head off and watch the 2nd game of Tyler’s baseball tournament that I went – Uh Oh!

It was going to be 80 that day so I grabbed a pair of my denim capris.

I knew I was in trouble when the struggle to pull them up hit at mid-thigh, but I was determined and continued to tug and pull.

Yes, I sure did get them up…and even attempted to button and zip them, yet it was very uncomfortable and I sure did NOT want to sit in the bleachers for a couple hours under the hot sun in these!

So I put these back and grabbed a pair of trusty and super comfy compression crops.

 

These are one of my faves by Lululemon…and they sure wear very well!

Almost TOO Well.


While my legs and backside look deceivingly in good shape, each time I would slip into my leggings or crops I sure had no indication that inches were gradually increasing.

I needed it.


I have found a place in my body shaping goals to just be comfortable and maintain…and this has been totally fine for the past few months. I know strength-wise I’ve been on track and minus bouts of stress here and there, my mood and energy levels have not suffered.

 

However, now that the layers are being peeled off, I can now see the results OF choosing to do what I thought was Maintaining.

 

Since Memorial Day is the unofficial start of Summer and about a Month away – I am more motivated than ever to get focused and get committed so I can get my body back on track…even if it’s only a few pounds and a couple inches…it is affecting the fact that I cannot comfortably fit into my warm weather wears.

 

A Spring challenge will be starting up at ClubFYM on April 28th – which happens to be the 28 day countdown to Memorial Day – too perfect!

Since I am betting many busy moms can relate to the Uh Oh moments of peeling off the layers and switching over to warmer weather outfits, I’ve been working on a 28 Day Meltdown Challenge that ALL Moms can do.

 

 

Details will be shared next week as I’m putting on the final details.

It will be super fun and a fantastic way to kick start fat loss to get moving on those body shaping goals of yours too!

 

Oh and I am so excited to share that The Vipers Won the tournament!

We had been on a bit of a losing streak and the team we played to get us this big win was REALLY good, a lot of talented players – so it was a huge confidence boost for our boys.

I sure loved seeing Tyler get so into the game and experience this victory with his teammates.

New Year BeYOUtiful New You Challenge VOTE ’14

I am very excited to share the New Year’s
Transformation Challenge Finalists with you!

Take some time to meet these amazing women and see the results – both inside and out – that each were able to achieve in just 12 weeks.

What made this challenge unique is that each FYM chose her OWN theme.

Rather than share a long list of resolutions – which tend to be areas viewed as problems – these women were open to a new, more positive approach. Similar to the “My One Word” experiment, during this challenge the long list of changes were dumped. They instead picked ONE WORD – or even 2 or 3 Words – in order to get clarity on big plans & goals by narrowing them down into a single focus.

The purpose was to make this challenge FUN and help these ladies Maximize 2014 – Making it the BEST Year YET….for real this time!

Just over 200 women took part in a 12 Week series of thoughtfully plotted weekly assignments & Live Weekly Video Meet Ups for extra accountability and motivation. Each assignment was designed to challenge the way they think, move and nourish their bodies.

There about 50 amazing final transformations essays submitted, so to narrow it down to just 6 was quite difficult. Continue reading

It’s like winter does not want to let go.

We were teased with a couple 60-70 degree days here in Louisville, KY but this came at the expense of temps dropping into the 20’s and now snow is expected this week too!

 

 

I am REALLY noticing the impact this is having on my mood and motivation…hence, a lack of emails and articles.

It’s crazy for next to Fall, Spring is my favorite season.
