Yes ~ I’m Pregnant!

baby+rigsby Yes ~ Im Pregnant!

My post a couple weeks ago “My Personal Bikini Ready Secrets Revealed” seems to have slipped through the cracks for some as I tried to be a little too creative with the announcement of my pregnancy.

Making it simple and official this time!

Baby Rigsby is due October 19th 2010.

At the time I am posting this, I am 14 weeks along and feeling Fabulous!

14+weeks+tank Yes ~ Im Pregnant!

Here’s the quick version of our story ~ February 11th, pregnancy test was positive! Patrick was so surprised it happened so fast!

Shared the news with Tyler….his face was Priceless! Grinning from Ear to Ear and then it changed to a stern look of concern as he firmly announced that I may not drink any more coffee or tea!

My 1st trimester was spent dealing with the normal fatigue and unsettled stomach – suddenly had an aversion to veggies! Found that I did enjoy V8 to help make up for any voids.

On top of adjusting to the changes taking place in my body, I had about 12 months worth of Fit Yummy Mummy DVDs to get filmed ahead of time! We did it though with time to spare! Staying active was a plus in managing all those fun side effects!

Right about 12 weeks all those fun symptoms lifted, I had my energy back and was excited to get into a consistent workout routine!

And a HUGE weight was lifted once we could see and hear our baby growing in my belly at our 8 week Dr appointment (see photo at top of post).

Now headed into the 2nd trimester and the excitement grows right along side my growing belly!

You are more than welcome to follow along with my progress either at the Fit Yummy Mummy Facebook Fan Page ….

1+fb+fan Yes ~ Im Pregnant!

OR if Facebook is NOT for you, I also share a more detailed account with video updates, in my online community ~ ClubFYM.com!

Thanks again for all your support ~ I am so excited to share this experience with you!

1sig Yes ~ Im Pregnant!

PS ~ With the official-official announcement of my pregnancy, just wondering what your thoughts are on Jillian Michael’s Ant-Pregnancy comment she made in Women’s Health magazine about the reasons she plans to adopt, rather than give birth to, children.

“I’m going to adopt.

I can’t handle doing that to my body,”

Have a huge discussion going on right now at the FYM Facebook Fan page…this was my latest reply to what was being discussed:

“I get that she is in the public eye and this is her livelihood – however, this is what I do too… My physical shape and state of health has everything to do with my credibility for Fit Yummy Mummy and I could not WAIT until the day came for us to start trying…and I have ZERO fears of going through pregnancy at this stage for I know I can STILL be a positive Role Model….”

Let me know what you think!

Personally I believe she is in her own right to do as she wishes. I think It is a Blessing to Have a Baby Growing in your Tummy. What a great feeling, even though I went through 7 months of 24/7 full on Morning sickness, I would do It again in a Heart Beat. :D I sense that she is Living a Different Lifestyle not related to Fitness at All, to not want to have a Baby Growing Inside her. But Each to Their own. I do watch The Biggest Loser all the Time and I enjoy it for the Fitness part of It. Jillian Seams Like a Nice and Caring Person on TV, but we don’t know the REAL Her. Everybody’s Lifestyle is Different and What they want out of it is Different, too. Holly, You have proven to Us all that We as Mothers or women in general can Reshape Our Bodies and be Fit and Sexy for the Rest of Our Lives. Thank you for everything Holly. :D You are a True Friend and an Amazing Coach. Hugs, Erica

Congratulations! I am very excited for you and your family.
I hadn’t heard what Jillian Michaels had said. It’s a personal choice whether to adopt or have your own in your own body ( I didn’t know how to say that since your adpoted kids are your own too) but to make a decision based on fears of gaining and then having to lose the baby weight are a bit ridiculous and I actually feel sad for her. Does she not believe in herself that she could have a fabulously fit pregnancy, birth and get her shape back afterward? Our bodies are wonderful machines and the fact that she is already fit would just make it easier going into a preganancy.
Again – congratulations to you – I loved all four of my pregnancies even with their challenges.

Regarding the discussion about adopting a baby rather than having a baby…. I too chose that path throughout my life for the same reason as Jillian! Then, when I was 51 yrs old (when I could no longer have a baby of my own) I decided to adopt one. And all I can say is this: “What was I thinking all those years?” Sure, it is harder to find the time to exercise to keep in shape now, BUT what a joy it is having a child! Getting back in shape after having a baby isn’t just about getting your body back after the pregnancy, it’s also about finding the time to do so while your child is growing! Yes, it was easier to keep my body in shape before becoming a mom. But, now I believe that keeping fit isn’t all about the shape of my body; it is all about my health and happiness for me and my family! Congratulations on your pregnancy Holly!

Congratulations Holly! How exciting for you and your family! Children are indeed a blessing from God – I have four blessings and wouldn’t change a thing. As for Jillian, she will miss some precious, exciting and spiritual moments knowing that there is a life growing inside of her. She is in amazing shape and woould likely gain little weight. I am a fan of the Biggest Loser and i would think most fans would think it was awesome that she was pregnant. Perhaps it’s the fear of the delivery as well. Her choice but she’s really missing out!

Congratulations to you, Patrick and Tyler! How exciting. I want to say that I think its amazing you are pregnant and will stand to be an incredible role model for so many moms and soon to be moms out there. Now we can watch you go through it personally! She has fears. She was once a big girl, and lost it, why she doesn’t have more faith in her ability to do that again is interesting. Seems a bit unbalanced to me, and could be slightly offensive to mom’s, but she doesn’t know the love you feel being pregnant. She’s a little rough for me, I don’t think you have to insult people to get them to lose weight. I like Holly’s way better, and she’s a mom, soooooo, that’s more inspirational for all us MOM’S!!! Congrats again Rigsby’s!

Congratulations + Jah Bless!!!!! All life is a gift to be cherished.
Jillian Michael’s comment is one of a person who is an observer
of what it is like to be pregnant. It seems as if she sees it as trauma to her body- only. It is so much more than that but she is
entitled to her feelings on the subject. I love that we live in a country where she can be honest about how she feels. A woman
should weigh the pros and cons of pregnancy before she becomes pregnant. At least she’s thought about it. Right now, it’s a body
thing for her but that could change. She could meet someone in the future and love them so much, that the changes of her body
becomes a small price to pay. Besides, do we really want women
to feel they have to be pregnant to be moms? Adoption is a good
alternative for those who can’t see past the cons they have about
pregnancy but still want to be Moms. You can’t fully understand
pregnancy and all of it’s joys until you’ve actually been pregnant. It is NOT a spectator sport! Best wishes to you and your ever expanding family. Stay positive, healthy, and get plenty of rest. You have one son but having two children will be a new BLESSED experience for you. Thank you and your husband for making the world a better place by bringing more Love, Hope and Humanity into it. God Bless Y’all, Rastarebel1

All I have to say is…Jillian may have a TV show but u r way more credible. Plus u will have experience and proof for all of the moms out there that it is possible to have a baby n still get your body back AND keep it.
You are a great role model n we need more of those in this world!!!

    Congrats again to u!!

Congratulations Holly! Wish I could have been there to see the look on Tyler’s face….yes, I have to agree with the other posters-a baby is such a blessing :-) Jillian may regret it later-right now she is thinking of her show, etc. You are truly an inspiration to so many…keep up the great work and I hope you have a wonderful pregnancy that you can enjoy moment-by-moment with your family. Immerse yourself in the joy that God has blessed you with <3 <3 <3

    Contrats on the baby!!!

As far as Jillian – I think she is sending a terrible message about body image when she makes comments like that. Yes, she has the right to do as she pleases with her body, but as a health/fitness “role model”, she has a huge responsibility to the public. I don’t think that the message I took away from that comment (that pregnancy somehow makes your body less attractive) is a very positive one – especially when you consider the body image issues that women already deal with. So… a big thumbs down to Jillian, and a big thumbs up to Holly for the positive message she is sending women about their bodies and pregnancy!!!

    P.S. – congratulations again!

I fully agree with Heather, Steph and Michelle…the only reason I chose Holly over joining Jillian’s site was because she is a MOM. Holly IS much more credible. She knows what we go through everyday in order to find time and the strength to get fit and healthy. As Michelle said, “..it’s all about my health and happiness for me and my family.” It’s taken me a long time to realize that. I couldn’t have said it any better! Congrats Holly!

Hey Holly! Jillian thinks she’s the new “Oprah,” but I think you’re way more credible too and think it’s awesome that you’re letting others share in your journey!
I can understand how she doesn’t want to sacrifice her body, but apparently, she just doesn’t get that it’s worth it, huh?!
Anyway, I was inspired by your transformation pics and journal and am in the middle of one myself. Thanks for being so transparent!
I also wanted to say that it’s soooo exciting to hear about your pregnancy! Definitely, keep us posted online. I’m a proud Club FYM member and and will gladly spread the word. Just posted an interview between you and me last June in NJ and keep referring back to you on female fat loss to my ladies in boot camp. :)

Congrats Holly!!! Wishing you a smooth and amazing development and delivery!

As to Jillian putting her body through that….uhm, isn’t that what our bodies were meant to do? Weren’t we designed as females to concieve and give birth. As a species, that is the sole purpose of the female body. Your not really sacrificing your body if it is designed to do that and go back to the way it was. That and you would think with all her knowledge about fitness and nutrition, it would be a snap for her to get back to normal afterwards.

Oh well to each their own, enjoy this time and I’ll be following along!

Hey Holly, the baby bump is way cute!! As for Jillian Michael’s comments, maybe she is afraid of child birth, or of losing her shape, or both…who knows. All I know is what I love about your program is that it is completely do-able! I’m not sacrificing anything and I’m gaining so much! No, not pounds – those are disappearing! But I’m gaining insight and knowledge about myself and nutrition, strength, flexibility, energy, and HEALTH! Thanks for keeping it real and being such a great role model!

Congrats again Holly! I think being able to make and grow a baby is such an amazing and wonderful thing! If you really think about it, its just mind blowing! People take for granit just how crazy it is ya know like the people you will interact with today came from a tiny itty bitty egg and a seed and formed into this amazing thing that functions perfectly with a thousand parts working together at the same time all the time WOW! Its a huge honor!

As far as I’m concerned regarding Jillian I think it is unfortunate that she speaks often before she thinks. I think for many of her fans it would bring right away some feelings of doubt and might become skeptical about everything she stands for. She prides herself on Biggest Loser’ for being able to bring someone from such an extreme unhealthy lifestyle to an extreme healthy lifestyle. If the body can recover from such major damage done by obesity than why couldnt it recover from the little extra baby weight?

I think you are an awesome role model and SO happy someone began this awesome health after baby and even BETTER body after baby revolution! I hope your name gets around nation wide!

I think you should contact her! Or not because she will steel your ideas! You should think about starting a show so you get nationally recognized!

Cheers to being healthy and yummy hot!

Congratulations Holly Im so happy for you!

I think that jillians comment about not wanting to sacrifice her shape/body can be because she has been struggeling with her weight in her youth, and as what i know of her training programs she beleives in 1 hour+ workouts and that can be hard to keep up during pregnancy due to fatique sickness etc… and one can never know how the pregnancy goes: uncontrollable cravings combined with being disgusted with healthy foods can happen, or maybe one needs bed rest for maybe 7 out of 9 months or more… that is a hard thing to do and live with, and the body as you know will suffer greatly from that, and it will be even harder to get ‘back on track’, so maybe she sees it at too much of a gamble, as one never knows wich pregnancy one will get…
And also if she dosnt wish to cut down on her training and or it can be very hard to see ones body grow, maybe she knows with herself that she wont be able to handle the weightgain very well mentally emotionally, even though its natural and neccesary it can be (a bit) disturbing
but I guess it all does come down to being balanced, and at peace with your body and yourself , and wanting it enough to choose to go through it no matter how the pregnancy might turn out…

On the positive side however I think it is a very good thing to choose to adopt if one dont feel the NEED for a very own child, as there is already too many people in the world (especially in the 3rd.) and many kids are orphants and have bad options, and usually they can get a better life with an adoption family…

If I would choose to have another child, and I have the money Id choose to adopt too… both to avoid the pregnancy but also to give a ‘suffering’ child a better life.

Again congratulations Holly I wish you will have a continous Fabulous pregnancy ;)
You look so cute with your little showing belly
    Best wishes

Hi Holly congrat’s on the pregnancy I did see the original announcement what an exciting time for you all. As for Gillian’s announcement well what can ya say pregnancy is such an individual thing just like pain I guess. From my own experience I got married 12 years ago & was anorexic/bulimic & when my husband asked me to have a baby I was terrified how could I do that to my body when I had spent so many years achieving what I thought was an ideal body. I said yes & within a few months of trying nothing happened & I fell apart emotionally that was when we knew the gravity of a baby was far too much at that time I needed some help. I went I got the help & some years later fell pregnant had a miscarriage & then knew this was what I wanted to do. I ate normally & only put on 12 kilo’s but at the end of the day my thoughts were for the baby not myself here I am six years later tackling the baby weight & body image but ya know what I look at my 6 year old every day & know it was all worth it & wouldn’t change a thing……P.S. I was one of the lucky one’s I never got a stretch mark I think because I was so tonned prior to my pregnancy so some good did come from thos years of anorexia/bulimia but the best thing to come from all that was my two adorable little girlsxxxxxYou look amazing & with the right mind set & support (for me at that time my hubby) you can achieve anything so go forward Holly & cannot wait to see that amazing little bubba…..

Congratulations Holly. I am so happy for you and your family. You take such good care of yourself and your body that you do not need to worry about post pregnancy. As someone who cannot have children I am really upset by Jillian’s comment that she sees putting ‘her body’ above the experience and joy of having a baby. I think deep down there may be other reasons and this is her excuse but each to their own. Good luck to you and I think this just gives you motivation &/or another reason to prove how well you can be a ‘fit yummy, mummy’. Just remember that yours and your babies health have to come above everything else and you have nothing to ‘prove’ to anybody. Best Wishes

Congratulations, Holly! I’m so envious of you that you get to live this increadible time right now. I would love to be pregnant again, I absolutely would not mind having to fight the baby weight again… but number four is still more than I can tackle. Thumbs up to you!
As for this other lady… what crossed my mind is that she might in fact be unfortunate enough not to be able to concieve one. Especially if she has a history of disorders… these things do happen. And nobody, I mean nobody, wants to come out of the closet telling the world they’re really not everything a woman is meant to be. And for those ladies healing is long and painful. So perhaps we should simply feel for her. Adopting a child may well be a great thing. But being pregnant certainly is a very special feeling that we only can carry with us so long.
    Enjoy it, while it lasts!!

I think the great thing about Fit Yummy Mummy is it shows women how exercise can help you get your body back. I don’t think women should be scared of ruingin their body to pregancy as the rewards are worth it. However, Holly your program is proof that people can do it through the right program. I would suspect her life is too busy to even think about having a baby of her own now and she may change her mind down the road.
