Yes ~ I’m Pregnant!

baby+rigsby Yes ~ Im Pregnant!

My post a couple weeks ago “My Personal Bikini Ready Secrets Revealed” seems to have slipped through the cracks for some as I tried to be a little too creative with the announcement of my pregnancy.

Making it simple and official this time!

Baby Rigsby is due October 19th 2010.

At the time I am posting this, I am 14 weeks along and feeling Fabulous!

14+weeks+tank Yes ~ Im Pregnant!

Here’s the quick version of our story ~ February 11th, pregnancy test was positive! Patrick was so surprised it happened so fast!

Shared the news with Tyler….his face was Priceless! Grinning from Ear to Ear and then it changed to a stern look of concern as he firmly announced that I may not drink any more coffee or tea!

My 1st trimester was spent dealing with the normal fatigue and unsettled stomach – suddenly had an aversion to veggies! Found that I did enjoy V8 to help make up for any voids.

On top of adjusting to the changes taking place in my body, I had about 12 months worth of Fit Yummy Mummy DVDs to get filmed ahead of time! We did it though with time to spare! Staying active was a plus in managing all those fun side effects!

Right about 12 weeks all those fun symptoms lifted, I had my energy back and was excited to get into a consistent workout routine!

And a HUGE weight was lifted once we could see and hear our baby growing in my belly at our 8 week Dr appointment (see photo at top of post).

Now headed into the 2nd trimester and the excitement grows right along side my growing belly!

You are more than welcome to follow along with my progress either at the Fit Yummy Mummy Facebook Fan Page ….

OR if Facebook is NOT for you, I also share a more detailed account with video updates, in my online community ~ ClubFYM.com!

Thanks again for all your support ~ I am so excited to share this experience with you!

PS ~ With the official-official announcement of my pregnancy, just wondering what your thoughts are on Jillian Michael’s Ant-Pregnancy comment she made in Women’s Health magazine about the reasons she plans to adopt, rather than give birth to, children.

“I’m going to adopt.

I can’t handle doing that to my body,”

Have a huge discussion going on right now at the FYM Facebook Fan page…this was my latest reply to what was being discussed:

“I get that she is in the public eye and this is her livelihood – however, this is what I do too… My physical shape and state of health has everything to do with my credibility for Fit Yummy Mummy and I could not WAIT until the day came for us to start trying…and I have ZERO fears of going through pregnancy at this stage for I know I can STILL be a positive Role Model….”

Let me know what you think!

    Holly:

Congrats again! What a blessing for you, and what a REAL role model you are to REAL women out there that are not afraid to be human! Your example will inspire tons of people, not just the ladies! I know men who’ve been doing the FYM program…. As far as Gillian, she could really boost her credibility if she had a baby & then bounced back to her buff self, as she obviously would. She’s not afraid to push herself to the limit, and it shows, so what gives? She would prove herself to be a product of what she teaches. Sounds like a copout to me. You go girl!

Holly – you are clearly a much healthier role model than…others in the public eye. As a fit and healthy mom who exercised throughout my pregnancy ten years ago I could not agree more that exercise makes a huge positive difference in whole experience. Thank you and congratulations!

Holly, you ARE a great role model even while pregnant. I think Jillian Michael’s comment about pregnancy is a personal choice but yet at the same time, she’s making herself into a shallow and superficial person. You give us hope that even after having had kids, we can still look great….maybe even better than we did pre-pregnancy! Kudos to you! Congratulations on Baby Rigsby!

    Congratulations dear Holly!

You are a fabulous role model on how to be a REAL woman… sensible, natural and healthy in your way to be fit, and show others how to be too.

I hope your pregnancy goes really well. Lots of love and best wishes to you and all your family.

Congratulations on your new little miracle. No surprise that you have a tremendous following giving your wealth of knowledge and expertise. You embraced me with that first phone call that cut out all the lies and substandard advice and got to the nitty gritty with real life answers and solutions. You have showed many women the way back to a more fulfilling life with their children and family. A happier healthier way of live that is nurturing inside and out. You are a blessing to this online community and are a tremendous resource for all. Many more blessing to you and yours. You are a REAL woman!!!!!

i love your attitude to this pregnancy Holly!!! YOU are GORGEOUS!!!
As for Jillian’s attitude… I have a 7 month old and a 5 year old so I KNOW what pregnancy does to a womans body… I am now in better shape than I was pre falling pregnant with our 7 month old!! Women are MADE to have children!! Although, is there some remedy for stretchmarks!!!??!!! LOL!

Congratulations on your wonderful news, you look radiant and as beautiful as always. This is something very special for your family, especially for you and Patrick as a couple.
My thoughts on the Jillian comment is disbelief! I am dissappointed that someone with her knowledge and ability would use that as an excuse for adopting a child. Our bodies are designed to have children and I think that what comes from carrying and giving birth to a child if you are able to do it gives a woman a whole new appreciation for her body and what it is capable of. Slack excuse on Jillians behalf I think, no wonder we women put so much pressure on ourselves to look perfect(no such thing) when people in the public eye and especially in the fitness industry can’t take on the challenge of being the best person that they can be with what God has given us.

Congrats holly! You are proof to all that you can have kids and get back in shape. You would think Jillian michaels would get pregnant and have kids and show how you can do it and stay in shape, you know set a good example. Not saying adopting ain’t a good thing because it’s great but so is having your very own, and caring and nuturing it while your pregnant. I have twin girls and I wouldn’t trade them for anything and my body is doing well.

Holly – you are the most effective role model I know! Jillian’s statement is one of fear. When we know better we do better. The results of going through pregnancy – that beautiful baby – far outweigh what happens to our body. Plus, it’s my opinion that our bodies are amazing to be able to do this and get back into shape! It’s too bad Ms. Michael doesn’t see it that way.

CONGRATS Holly to you and Patrick. God’s richest blessings on you for a beautiful and healthy baby. God Bless. As to Ms Michael’s attitude to pregnancy, I can understand her, but I think she should think again about it. Thers is nothing more enjoyable and miraculous for a woman when she holds that sweet human being in her arms after many months of discomfort.

I have to say, I was really excited when I learned you were pregnant. I loved all your post-pregnancy workouts, but as Tyler was 5 when I started following you, and my own daughter newborn, I felt I was miles and years away from being able to look like you and be in the kind of great shape you are in. Plus, I did not know how exactly how to stay in shape the next pregnancy. So your being pregnant with an already established workout routine and credibility is very exciting. I can’t wait to see your advice on how to keep training and working out while pregnant, and then how to lose the baby weight and get in shape post-baby this time. I think it’s such an inspiration to everyone else, and it’s really the very best example to do it yourself!

    Hi Holly,

Congrats. Hope it’s a great pregnancy. We tried for 2 yrs, went through IUI & IVF last Spring & Fall and failed so I assume I’m not meant to be a mommy to anyone but my 4-legged, feline babies. :(

As for Jillian, I see her point and supposedly it was taken out of content. As I got older, I worried about what pregnancy would do to my body and the weight and worried about all that (for nothing obviously), but basically her choice was not go through pregnancy now and fearful of the affects on her body. Not sure if she is married but her opinion might change if she was with a man she loved and wanted to create an offspring that is part of both of them. To each her own. Can’t knock her for an opinion and she is not very graceful verbally.

Again, congrats & I’ll live vicarously through your experience.

    Sandy
