Step 2 in your Mommy Belly Makeover

How To Tighten Your Tummy

If you want to discover how to tighten your tummy, you must work from the Inside -> OUT.

This means you will turn your focus 1st to strengthening your deepest core muscles.

Take a look inside …

The Transverse Abdominis – or TA muscles – act as a corset wrapping around the bottommost portion of the spine and connecting all the way up to the low ribs.

When you draw you belly button in toward your spine, you’re engaging your deepest core muscles, your inner corset.

Your TA muscles play a huge role in just about EVERY movement you make….in fact in almost 90% of your movements, your deep core muscles are activated in supporting your entire torso.

The Benefits of Starting With Strengthening Your Transverse Abdominis:

* a tighter, smaller waist line

* prevents or lessen the severity of diastasis recti

* improved posture

* better balance

* improve performance during workouts

* decreased low back pain

    Hi Holly,

    Thanks for the simple core strengthening tip and the explanation about TA muscles.

    I’m assuming that this exercise works for guys too.

    I’ll have to admit that it seemed too good to be true that this exercise would do any good. But after performing the exercise as recommended in your video I could tell those TA muscles were being used.

    Thanks again,

    Mark

    Looking wonderful, Holly! Great video. And I really respect that you have your sweet baby with you throughout. So many in our culture act as if women can’t be productive with babies but there are ways! Well done!

    Thank you! It sounds simple, but I’ve learned that the simple moves are usually the most effective.
    Baby Alexander is SO cute! And I have to say this: you have one strong arm and one strong palm…there are portions where you’re holding him down with just your palm. Wow!

    Hi Holly, that little guy has got to be one of the cutest babies I have ever seen. He’s a natural!

    The diagram was really helpful, I’ve never really understood exactly how the ab muscles work.

    The exercises are great too. I am finding myself pulling in through out the day so many times my muscles are engaged rather than just flopping around :0)

    If I can get in the habit I think it will help – my posture also feels better right away when I do it.
