Halloween Costume Contest

halloweenq Halloween Costume Contest

What do you think?

Last year I kicked off the holiday season with a fun Halloween Workout dressed as Olivia Newton John using only a pumpkin!

Great fun, right?

So this year I have to somehow match that….and I am stuck!

I have a list if ideas but nothing seems to pop off the page. So I am putting this out there to ask for your help.

Costume Contest

**Leave a Reply with your Halloween Workout Costume suggestion below**

The only thing I ask is that you keep in mind that I actually have to workout with this costume – which is what shot some of my fun ideas down ; )

To make it even more fun, I will choose the Top 3 Costume Suggestions for a Free Halloween Workout Downloadable Video – which will be the full Halloween workout and workout log.

Contest will run from now, October 20th to Sunday, October 25th. I will post the winners of the contest and the new Halloween Workout video, complete with costume next week!

I am excited to see your ideas and suggestions!

Thanks again for your help!

why not be a “YUMMY MUMMY”

dress up as a mummy, obviously you wouldnt be able to workout wrapped in bandages, but if you you cut strips and attached to clothes individually as if they had been wrapped round you, then glam up the hair and make up to look yummy lol…..

Be a witch, you can use a broomstick and a black caldron to workout with.

Ha ha…you should be darth vader. Tyler would love that (he likes star wars right?) and you can use the light saber (maybe dress up a weighted bar?).

How about Jennifer Beals in Flash Dance with her being a dancer/construction worker (in the movie) there are lots of costume choices that should be comfortable to work out and maybe you could use a chair and bucket of water somehow in your workout somehow.

As a kid, I remember watching the cartoon, She-Woman, which was great to see a physically strong female exist. Holly, you’re the real deal!

As long as you don’t mind a bit of ‘cross-dressing’ then it’s got to be Michael Jackson.

    Thriller – perfect for halloween!

You could be a black cat and workout with a “ball” of yarn (yarn wrapped around a ball, or dumbbells or kettlebell)and also do some stretches. I think a cat and a swissball could also be quite fun.

    Hi Holly,

    Happy early birthday!

Last year I was Malibu Ken and it was a HUGE hit. What if you’re some barbie character?

How about a black cat? Have black clothes, ears, tail. Use an exercise ball as a ball of yarn. Lots of stretches and rolling the ball back and forth.

I think Farrah Fawcett would be a good idea, like her 1976 iconic poster in the red one piece swimsuit with BIG CURLY hair. That would be awesome!

It would be really funny to see you as a drill sargent–because it is completely opposite of how you really are…

I’m thinking of a cheerleader theme…easy to move in, comfortable, and is supposed to be a fun, motivating person that smiles while exercising! And if you need a ‘prop’ you can use a football to toss.

So many great ideas, Holly!I picture a simple black, long-sleeve workout outfit with black sheer tights. Don’t cover your head with a hat or wig, but vampy make-up. Black leather high-heal boots. Black toulle scarf around your neck. I think you can still do your workout in the boots.

Every exercise in the circuit will require a broom. V-Ups, Y-Squats,broomstick lunge to raise, hip extensions, woodchops, 1-leg romanian deadlifts, broomstick swing, broomstick side lunge to raise, broomstick diagonal lunges, broomstick good mornings, etc.

Need more ideas for upper body… This sounds like so much fun!

I vote for Dora the Explorer. For props, you can use a backpack, a map, and a stuffed monkey too. Tyler is a fan of Dora right? Maybe he can do a cameo of Diego (or better still, PATRICK!!!). Now that would be a fun costume party idea. Happy Hallowe’en

How about Madonna from the 80′s. Very fun and retro with leggings, short flouncy skirt, fingerless lacy gloves,…
Plus one of her songs always makes me want to get up and move! :)

How about dressing up like Cyndi Lauper “Girls just want to have fun”. I bet that would be a fun workout.
    Happy Halloween!

basketball star? That could be hilarious!

skeleton? (Tyler could be in the background rattling things when you move so your bones rattle)

    Everyone has such great ideas!

I second the DRILL SARGENT…I think it would be a blast to see you calling commands and being all firm/tough on the video. I agree total opposite of you, but so fun! Can’t wait to see!

I believe you should be a Police woman going through the Police Academy or Bootcamp. :)
    Sounds like so much fun.

It would be awesome tinder u dress up as Jennifer Biel from Flashdance!

Or put a shade on your head (like a lamp) and a scarf around your waste and exercise as a “1 night stand”.

You would also make a cute Madonna (circa the 80s).

Good luck I can’t wait to see it.

I love all these ideas. I was thinking Cher from her fitness days. I had a tape of hers. I love last years by the way. That song reminds me of high school!

Hey Holly! I vote for DOROTHY from the WIZARD OF OZ! How cute would you be in a blue dress, red athletic shoes (instead of sparkly heels) with tights, and your hair in pigtails!!!??!?! You could have dumbells in your basket and a little stuffed puppy as your “Toto”. Or dress up a dumbell or kettlebell as Toto!? Dorothy traveled an interesting path in her quest to meet the wizard! This could be fun! All of the submitted ideas are great. Can’t wait to see what you do!

Very tough decision to make I’m sure. I’d say Super Woman or Wonder Woman. They are very strong women just as you are and superhero as you are in the fym’s eyes.

Sounds like a lot of fun. I can’t wait to hear the results.

Oh I like the Black Cat song idea! I love that song. I thought of a song for Cher- If I Could Turn Back Time – since we can with exercise and healthy living:) But that song is pretty slow!

I originally thought the Jennifer Beals Flashdance character with leggings and the one-shoulder cut-off sweatshirt. However, I love the Black Cat idea with the Janet Jackson song and a Swiss Ball!!

OR… a Fairy Godmother, come to make all our fitness dreams come true!!

I think you should be Kathleen Sebelius. This is an individual who is currently helping to lead America in the fight to be healthier.

How about a 70′s kind of theme with outfits from the movie Mamma Mia. You know real flashy colors and bell bottomed pants with wedge heeled boots You could use the music from the movie too! Sounds like fun to me…my kids love the movie and get lots of exercise just dancing to the music. I’m sure whatever you do it’s going to be great! I like all the other ideas so far too…especially Sally’s:0).

    Thanks, Retha

I think you would make a great Lady Gaga! She is always in character with crazy clothes and her music is awesome. She has lots of great songs you could work out to. You would be totally fabulous as Lady Gaga.

    October 20, 2009 | 7:07 pm

Sticking with the Halloween theme, you could dress up as a skeleton. The black outfit with the white skeleton bones on it.. that would look great. You could use skulls as weights and still have pumpkins and different things around to add colour.

    October 20, 2009 | 8:15 pm

    Hi Holly
How about Princess Armidala from Star Wars II Attack of the Clones. Tight white pants, white belt, and ripped off short sleeve crop top with your hair done up at the back in plaits.
    Good luck and have fun.

    October 21, 2009 | 12:27 am

Vampire-Zombie (or vice-versa) both popular this year with movies out. Your theme could be getting to keep our brains and blood, since FYM is so easy to follow, so different from other programs that over complicated, require fancy equipment (time suck/brain drain) or hours (excessive cardio/blood) to achieve (if your lucky) results.
