What are your fitness goals for Fall?

fall+fitness+goals What are your fitness goals for Fall?

Tuesday, September 22nd marked the first official day of Fall! Now that summer has ended it is time to Refocus and Set New Fitness Goals!

Fall is actually my favorite time of year ~ so I love to sit down and map out what is coming up and how I would like to best spend this brief, brisk and beautiful season.

Yes there are special events I am looking forward to such as….

~ Tyler’s 8th birthday this weekend – he is getting SO big!
~ My 37th birthday the end of October
~ Halloween of course
~ IU football game
~ Hike Brown County to soak up the colors of Fall
~ Mom’s 68th birthday
~ Dad’s 69th birthday
~ Then Thanksgiving!!!

I can only imagine that time once again will fly!

Besides looking forward to all these special events I also like to set a couple personal fitness goals. During the summer is it easier to stick to a plan in order to maintain a “bikini ready body”, but once fall arrives and the outdoor temperature and activities change it is super easy to ease up on your workout and nutrition plan.

So how about a little accountability?

You are doing it for me by reading my goals and I would love to return the favor!

Yes! My Goals – let’s see, I have three!

1. I am SO close to 10 full chin ups – I can do this!

2. Take on the 40-40 challenge with Patrick!
40 atomic push ups and 40 inverted rows with the TRX

3. Create a New Halloween Workout Video for YouTube
Last year I dressed up as Olivia Newton John and worked out with a pumpkin….pressure is on!

    Great idea!
    1. Do one set of “real” push-ups instead of on my knees
    2. Get into a size 8 jean. My “skinny jeans.”
    3. Do 3 sets of 12 stability ball jackknifes. I can only do 1.5 sets now.

    My Fall Fitness Goals:

    1. To run the Fearless 5k in our town on Halloween morning in 30 minutes

    2. To hold the plank for 40 seconds by Oct. 31st – that’d be big for me, I just started the FYM Club and workouts in the beginning of Sept.

Holly, I love Brown County. When I was growing up we would take our horses down there all the time and camp and horse back ride all day long. It was so much fun. I really miss it.
I won’t hold it against you for being an IU fan (lol). Go Boilermakers!!!

    Hmmmm goals….

    1. Try to stick & achieve my goals I am going to set out for myself this fall
    2. be more consistent with my supportive eating & workouts
    3. not put too much pressure on myself by stopping the all or nothing attitude

What a great idea! I just starten FYM 3 weeks ago, so my goals are rather modest:

    1. I want to go from introductory to beginners workouts in October. That will be fun because I get to use equipment!

    2. I will keep working on the intervals. Those are hard for my 57 year old frame, but I am determined to hang in there and go to the next level in November.

    3. I will be proud of every little baby step that I take, in stead of thinking that I am too old to do all this. No more excuses – think positive and have fun!

    My goals for the fall/winter:

    1. Be able to go on a walk without leg pain.
    2. Work hard at building up my strength so I can rid my body of the current muscle imbalances.
    3. Make inroads into my emotional eating (this is bigger than
a fall goal, but you got to start somewhere:)

I was just thinking this morning about it only being 100 days left in the year and what I would like to accomplish in these last 100 days. Very timely, Holly!

I would like to be able to do at least 1 chin-up!

Treat my body with love and nourish it with clean eating!

Increase the weights or number of reps in workouts every week

    Goals for the fall:

    1. Actually start working out. (I’ve got the eating good part down. 1/2 the battle for me right there!)
    2. Get to a size 12, or smaller.
    3. Start sleeping more and taking better care of myself… this ties into
    4. Become more organized so going to college and working (both full time) doesn’t mean that I’m so busy I can’t do the other things I want to do. I guess that means that I want my cake, I want to be able to eat it too – as long as I plan for it! :)

    Here’s to a good autumn!

    Goals for the fall

    1) continue working to break current plateau and drop one more size by Thanksgiving

    2) clean up eating – plan meals and snacks better – and recognize stress so no more attacking fattening foods and sugar when I get home from work (been a very stressful two weeks at work and lately sugar and fat – things i had thought i conquered-have snuck back in)

    3) work on getting balance between work, family, home and self

    4) wake up earlier so I can do workouts in the morning vs. after daughter’s bed time -go to bed earlier!

    Hi Holly!

My Fall fitness goals are to continue doing FYM workouts while pregnant, going on 22 weeks now…over the hump, but still have a while and a lot of unnecessary weight gain to avoid. I would like to only gain 25 to 30 lbs. during this pregnancy, instead of 35. That would really help with afterwards. Already have gained 10, so I just need to keep active and give my little baby the nutrition it needs, as well as me to keep up with my other two.

Fall is my favourite season too! To me it feels like the start of the year, or some new era :) I want to set up challenging goals for the rest of the year – 97 days to go!

    1) get my meals on track (keep a journal and replace unsupportive eating with supporting foods and schedule, and taking control of my sweeth tooth :) )
    2) loose 15lbs (my initial goal is 33lbs,that will be accomplished in April 2010)
    3) do burpees for one whole minute in the intervals (now I can do for 30sec.)

+ have a positive and supportive attitude towards myself and others

    Hi Holly
What a good idea. I hadn’t really been thinking about it. My goals will be Spring not autum.
    1. Tone more and loose a little more as I feel like I am on a bit of a platue (all of which would be fixed if I fix no. 2 & 3)
    2. Get up at 5.50 when the alarm goes off and start the exercises – not wait another 15 minutes and choose a shorter programme.
    3. Increase my intervals
    4. Spend more quality time with my horse and get ready to video some or my Level 3 PNH.
    5. Not freak out and give it a really good try when I take my dog to the national dog obedience trials next month. Wish me luck.

Do or do not – there is no try!!

We don’t really have fall here in the Philippines but I went to college in New England and really miss the colors and crisp days to play soccer in. :)

    My goals:
    1. To play soccer every Sunday just for fun and yet get a little bit of exercise also.
    2. To be able to do a pull up. Just one by Christmas.
    3. Started a food journal today and am showing it to my workout partner each Friday so that we are accountable to each other. My working out is fine, it’s my eating!
    4. Get back to a good long run on Saturdays since running is my passion since my knee is now recovered from surgery.

Hmm… I just turned 41. I discovered FYM this spring at 40 years old and I had NEVER been able to do 1 proper push-up.
Now I can do 15!! With a house / country move looming in 6 weeks, my goal is to get back on exercise track before & after the actual move – I have not made time recently.
So…. taking 1 minute out to think about goals…..
    1. Start doing 6 x 15mins a week again.
    2. Get my resistance days to 3 x 10 proper push-ups
    3. Get my interval days from beginner to intermediate.

Holly, from Europe, a big THANKYOU for the exercises, the videos & now the soundtracks!
