What type of feedback are you getting from your workouts?
Do have productive workouts or busy workouts?
Being busy means being engaged in action.
Being productive means yielding results or benefits.
I hear all too often that women are just working out to workout. Sure, there is a goal out there to lose weight, but the workouts chosen are getting them nowhere fast and leaving so many feeling frustrated, exhausted or worse – in real pain due injuries from over training.
It’s time to turn your workouts around!
My Top 3 Tips:
Productive workouts….
- Leave you feeling energized
- Make you look forward to the next workout
- Leave you feeling Stronger

I love my workouts! I’m working hard, I’m challenged, I’m out of breath (and lovin’ it!), I’m sweating and afterwards I’m feeling good, full of energy and I feel like I accomplished my goal for the day. All in about 10 minutes. What am I doing? FYM of course!

I used to be one of those people…..tired and exhausted after my workouts. Hours of spinning, aerobic classes, running, yoga, weights, pilates. I had no plan, I was just extra busy. With FYM I am energized and I look forward to my workouts. Thanks Holly!
Thanks Holly. I was going through exactly what you are talking about for a few months…changing my workout s week to week looking for one that excited me about working out…getting weaker…well I found something that made me excited–kettlebells! I hope you put out a program using KBs for strength and cardio intervals. In less than 2 weeks I feel stronger and it’s great:)
I have to say I use to be one of the “busy” people at the gym either doing the bike or treadmill for an hour or doing the weight machines for an hour. I never got any results. I really didn’t think shorter bursts like you do would do me much good since I needed to lose so much weight but I was surprised after starting FYM I did get results. So now I am productive not busy! Thanks Holly for giving me results and more time back to my day!
I’m am doing ok with these shorter bursts though I can’t say I feel excited about working out or energized after. In fact I still have to talk myself into it and I’m glad when I’m done. I was really hoping to get in the groove by now
I am getting stronger which is a plus and I hope that soon I’ll notice some changes in my body (or is 4 weeks too short a time for that).
Aside from that I do have a question. My muscles are so tight it’s painful to do many of the exercises. My hamstrings especially are always tight and in pain when I wake up in the morning and it’s not until mid afternoon that I can even come close to touching my toes.
Can you give us some hints on how to properly stretch? I stretch for at least 5 minutes before working out, when I’m watching tv, and before I go to bed. I even use the massage thing on my legs which helps for about 10 minutes. I just can’t get them to loosen up and believe me, it’s no fun to work out when you wince in pain every time you bend over!
Hi Holly
I love my workouts – I’ve just progressed to beginners and I love Bellyblasters – does that make me abnormal?
I look forward to them and seeing how much stronger and fitter I feel with each one.
My hubby has actually given in to me going on about how fantastic it is and is trying them for himself. The last 2 mornings he has got up early to workout the FYM way!
Thanks Holly

I was just thinking today that I was so excited to do my September workout because I was looking forward to seeing if I could do the increase in weight. Low and behold, I could. So I have to up the weight next time. For some reason this months workouts are more exciting for me.

You made another wonderful point, as you usually cut to the quick. You think it erases those bad choices and that is so true for me. Whether it’s not eating supportive foods, losing consistency in working out, or eating for stress. I can’t out train my poor choices. My poor choices can’t be erased they need to be addressed. I am essentially sabotaging my efforts and keeping myself from my goals. The proper balance is essential and Holly makes us reevaluate and fine tune to get those results to get our health and/or life back. You gave me a key- It simply said: “I would like you to know that you made a difference in my life.”

Hi Holly,
I don’t readily have access to a computer but would really like to do your program. Everything you say makes so much sense. I’m ready to see results from my efforts since I’m not crazy about exercising but I know that is the only way I will see a change in my body. Nutrition is important but you need both.
If I become a member, would I be able to receive a physical DVD instead of seeing your videos on a computer. If so, please give me details on how that works, is it a different workout every month or 6 weeks etc and of course, the cost of your program. Please give me details on your program.
Thank you Holly, I anxiously await your reply.

I’ve always been a 30 minute cardio gal and I can get a great free weight lifting session hitting everything in 30 minutes(and I do challenge myself). But that means going to the gym everyday or every other day. I decided to give FYM a try for a change of pace. The first time I did the workout I did not like it. I hate planks and push-ups in general and have always found a way around them. I sweated like I had been in my kickboxing class though! By my third week I realized that I’ve been a wuss about planks, push-ups, etc. I can tell they make a difference! The Training Soundtracks have made me look forward to my intervals! I had minor surgery last week so I haven’t gotten to my fourth week. I can’t wait to get back to it!
Hi Holly
I feel good after my workouts. When I first stated the intervals I used to feel heavy, now I just feel good. After this week I think I’ll be ready for the advanced intervals. I also do some resistance training because I want to get stronger. The resistance training is a bit challenging but each day I’m getting stronger.
Holly, I cannot access the video again due to China’s filters. But I can report to you that my workouts are going well. I keyed into something this week. And that is: When my eating is on track, my body feels more like exercising. As they say, you can’t out train a lousy diet. I had a great workout today! Yes!!
I find myself CRAVING my workouts! I look forward to them and LOVE doing them (even when my muscles are burning and I’m completely breathless)! I’m pushing myself and it feels so good. I’m definitely energized after working out!!
Hi Maria,
If you need some tips on stretching, be sure to see the demonstrations in your FYM handbook at the end of the exercise archives.
Be sure that you are taking time to warm up – not with static stretching though, just moving your body to warm up your muscles and get your joints ready to move.
Follow your workout with the static stretching.
BUT keep in mind that tight hamstrings may also be an indication of weakness in other areas of your body.
Your hamstrings may be trying to compensate for weakness or instability elsewhere (lower-abdominal muscles and/or lower-back muscles).
One of the main reasons why I highly encourage women to follow a full body BALANCED resistance training program.
Unfortunately is not something I can assess for you online and I would suggest you meet with a specialist who can help determine if this is the case or not.
Hi Holly,
I must tell you that I enjoy doing my workouts now. In the beginning I forced my self to get up early to do my workouts, but now I get up, get my pre-exercise meal and off I go. This month I am actually mixing up the August and September workouts (one workout lower body, the next one upper body, etc). they are very challenging and I drip by the end of it. This time I am also trying to do 4 sets, which is a challenge in it self, but it feels so good when I do.
Thank you for your post:)
