Short Burst Resistance Workouts Burn More Calories Than Cardio!

“I was so skeptical about giving up long cardio sessions and since I’m a person who likes to see instant results the body bugg really helped me realize that I am burning more with less workout time- especially the resistance training days.
I am the type of girl who likes proof that something is working so for all you girls out there who are like me I wanted to let you know the results I’m getting with Fit Yummy Mummy.
I got this body bugg for xmas last year and it tells you how many calories you are burring each day. I use to workout 1 hour a day and burn about 1600-1800 calories a day.
Now… I workout 15 minutes a day with my short burst Fit Yummy Mummy workouts and burn 2300-2500 a day – some days even more!
But get this….My workouts aren’t burning that much but – like Holly says – it’s the calories after your workout that count.
So for example, I use to burn 1 calorie a minute while at rest or typing at my computer, then workout and burn 6-9 calories a minute, then go back to 1 calorie a minute at rest.
Well now I burn the 6-9 calories a minute with the Fit Yummy Mummy workouts but then afterward while at rest I’m burning 1.4-2.0 and some days even 3.0!!!
There are so many people on FB who post “working out again for 2 hours woo hoo” and I am always telling them they are wasting their time. But old habits die hard. I use to do that too but then gained so much weight after my son because I couldn’t stick to the 2 hour workouts anymore.
I had the “if I can’t get to the gym for 2 hours why bother” mentality.
It’s so crazy to me that less really is better. But this was proof for me so I thought it might help someone else out there who also might be doubting that giving up workout time actually would actually make them burn more calories. It’s really amazing!

The Body Bugg info. prooves alot, but the real proof is in your inches removed in the last four weeks! Holly Rigsby and Club FYM are indeed the real deal, and your results so far are the real deal, too! Way to work it!

Teach your body to work FOR you instead and spending (and even wasting) SO much time working your body for little to no results.
Oh how fun! That’s ME! I am featured:) Yes I would NOT recommend going to buy a body bugg. They actually have gone up to 250 recently due to the Biggest Loser show. I got mine for xmas for 150. I only asked for it because back then I was working out for over an hour and wasn’t losing any weight (actually gaining) even watching my food intake so I wanted to see what was going on with my body. It’s a long story but basically bought FYM, thought how can I lose weight working out for 15 mins this must be for skinny people, almost tossed it with everything else I’ve
bought in the past, tried a few workouts here and there but still combined my hour long workouts in there, wasn’t giving it my all, then Holly announced the summer challenge and I thought maybe I’ll give it my all. That’s when I really started getting involved with the forum and the program and that’s when I started seeing results. I have to say that it’s SO much more then a workout/nutrition program. It’s really about the community which is SO supportive and Holly is just the best leader and really cares about all of us! I really can’t go on enough about it. I guess I just did go on and on but believe me this is my short story! I feel like I’m an ad or something but I was the biggest skeptic and when I find REAL people who care and not just people selling some product I have to go on and on because it’s SO rare these days. I can’t wait to see my “after” photo in July.
Thank you so much for letting us know the results you saw with Body Bugg. It’s confirmation of WHY the 15-minute workouts work better than long, boring hours spent on a treadmill. We moms are busy and don’t have time to waste on things that don’t work. Hearing that our metabolism is boosted for the rest of the day is so encouraging! Thanks!
Oh just one more thing. I am not the type of person who would go meet someone from a website unless they felt like family to me. That just goes to show you how special Holly makes us feel. When I heard she was coming to town it just felt natural to go see her. It felt like I was visiting with a friend I’ve known forever. And I have to say I have several very good friends on the site that I would drop anything for. It’s just an amazing community. I can’t stress that part enough. Ok I’m done going on and on now:)
Thank you for sharing your results, Denise. It is amazing isn’t it that less is more or better. I wouldn’t have imagined it either until I signed up and started using Holly’s workouts. It’s been a slow process for me but it’s steady and it’s on the decline. That never used to happen for me unless I worked out for hours.

u know what, 1 more thing I want to add to ur write up – intervals are definitely more hard work than 1 hr of cardio! Plus they r definitely additictive as compared to 1-2 hrs of gym which we always find excuses to avoid.

This is great! Even though I see that Holly is very fit and have seen her challengers drastically change their appearance I too thought that it was great for them but that I still needed to do 45 minutes or more of cardio everyday, but after reading this story I think I will just believe that it’s not too good to be true.

I used a body bugg for awhile over a year ago, but wasn’t sure it was accurate and then I let the subscription expire because I didn’t want to keep paying that price. But I’m very interested to know that it did show a difference in calories burned with Holly’s workouts. That is really good to know!!! Thanks for sharing!
