9 Month Post Baby and a Brand New Body

mandy+2 9 Month Post Baby and a Brand New Body I am revisiting a quote I shared in a newsletter that was taken right from a post pregnancy weight loss site: “New moms need to remember that it took nine months to gain the weight – at least that much time needs to be allotted for the way back.” The cycling of such misinformation is preventing so many new and seasoned moms alike -from reaching sure and steady post baby weight loss. Trust me I know! I too believed this. After Tyler was born, I was told I will lose excess weight over time – being fed the same line, 9 months on, 9 months off. Even worse…. it was also made clear that my body wold never be the same. I even remember packing up all my “skinny” jeans! How discouraging is that! Since then I found a solution and my passion as I have been helping moms to not only see that they could lose the baby fat, but achieve a brand new body in the process. Many of the moms I work with are astounded by the fact that they are in better shape NOW – After having children. Mandy’s post baby weight loss is an outstanding example of how a new mom can not only quickly get back down to her pre-pregnancy weight – which she achieved just 18 weeks after the birth of her son – after 9 months of sticking to the fat loss system that helped her achieve these immediate results, Mandy is now looking at a Brand New Post Baby body – 20 pounds lighter than her pre-pregnancy weight! “I am so thankful to be completing another Fit Yummy Mummy challenge and still seeing amazing results. The holidays are a particularly challenging time – busy with get-together’s with friends and family, and full of temptations with wonderful holiday goodies at every turn. This year was different – I HAVE willpower!! I walk by the goodie table numerous times – occasionally picking up a box and looking at the nutritional information to remind myself that it’s just not worth it’. I allowed myself to indulge on Fridays without guilt. Over the holiday challenge I lost another 6.6lbs, and another inch from my waist! My resolution at New Years 2008 was to be back at my pre-pregnancy weight – I never dreamed I would be 20lbs lighter than my pre-pregnancy weight, with a far more fit body than I had even in high school, of course, the most surprising thing is I did this, and I have an 8 month old son. I have been at least a size 10 all of my adult life – I can’t remember a time when I looked in the mirror and really liked what I saw. I have always had a jelly belly, clothes have never fit right, and I have been yo-yoing for years always putting on a little more than I lost. I found out I was pregnant in August of 2007 – which coincided with my heaviest point ever. I gained 33lbs with my pregnancy. The first 20lbs came off within days of delivery, the rest seemed to cling a little longer… I bought the Fit Yummy Mummy e-book shortly after I brought my brand new baby boy home from the hospital in April. Thank you Marloes for introducing me to the program! I read the e-book within the first 2 days, and tried a few of the workouts for brand new moms, but didn’t really get into the program until June. I don’t know what made it click in June, but the timing was right for me, and I started my Fit Yummy Mummy journey in earnest June 13, 2008. I made the workouts a priority, and my supportive nutrition was pretty easy given that my baby was nursing like clockwork every 3 hours. I have lost 28lbs to date and am 20lbs lighter than I was prior to finding out I was pregnant. I look in the mirror every morning and smile at myself – I love how my body is changing every day and I love how I feel energized. This body is a work in progress, and I am so excited to see what the future holds for me – I am currently wearing a size 8, and I know that I can do better! For those of you just getting started – Holly has put together a program that really works – you’ll read all kinds of testimonials here – just know that they are coming from real women – like me. For those of you who have been here all along, you continue to be an inspiration to me, and although I don’t always comment – I’m cheering you on from the sidelines. Now for the pictures – I took my pictures prior to starting the summer challenge July 4th, and put them side by side with my post-holiday challenge pictures December 20th – I can’t even believe the changes that I see. mandy+1 9 Month Post Baby and a Brand New Body mandy+2 9 Month Post Baby and a Brand New Body For those of you scared to take the before pictures – it is so fun to watch your body change in photos – I got a little depressed after I took my before pictures – but I’m so glad I took them – you need bad before pictures to show off next to your hot new bod! My resolution for 2009 will be to find out what this body is capable of – to find its true potential – and perhaps be blessed with another little one in the process.” Mandy ~ Age 29, Mom to 9 month old son.
