I do think she looks amazing and sure she is sharing her personal transformation to help promote Jenny Craig – but she not only hits on the tag line of what Fit Yummy Mummy is all about…

…she also hits the core component of successful weight loss and I feel so strongly about this that I felt the need to share it with you too – for there are far too many weight loss resources out there that skip right over this.


Valerie Bertinelli speaks about having the right mindset….Bikini Mindset- Bikini Confidence!

What is this “Bikini Confidence” and how can you make it work for you?

While I cannot speak for Valerie and exactly what she has done exercise and eating wise to get her body back, I can speak for the fact that she is one the few who “gets it”.

Meaning – she gets that a physical transformation takes place from the inside out.

All the dieting, cardio, resistance training, getting into the smallest sized skinny jeans ever, seeing the lowest number on the scale….none of this matters nor has the impact to truly transform you unless you have the Confidence to live in this new body, appreciate this new body and keep this new body.

Those of you looking for the quick fix may quickly click away from a post such as this.

And this is quite unfortunate.

For those who choose to stay and listen are the ones who will finally put an end to years of frustration, disappointment and feelings of failure.

So much time is wasted and self esteem damaged by striving to achieve the perfect body – refusing to stop until you “get there” and taking the all or nothing approach….the whole time losing site of the fact that any type of change or transformation is a PROCESS.

Everyone wishes, hopes and dreams of skipping to the end result however pressing fast forward causes you to miss out on the essential internal changes that must take place for true, lasting confidence boosting results!

Yes, it IS Possible to Get Your Body Back
But unless you have ALL the tools you need to achieve a better body – will you even know once you get there?

Seeing weight loss and feeling a transformation are two totally different experiences.

Take a moment to consider the fitness plan you are following.

How good do you feel about your results?

1 Exercise For Toned Arms And A Tight Tummy

Wouldn’t that be awesome if all you had to do was one exercise and be done with it yet have all the fat burning, body toning benefits of a full workout? And get the toned arms and tight tummy you always wanted?

Well there are a couple moves I consider to come very close to this ideal move.

The Push Up is one of my favorites.

Not only is it COOL to do Regular push ups – but as you do increase strength something amazing happens. Your arms become more toned and defined and as your core becomes stronger, your tummy begins to shrink and flatten.

These are some of the initial results I experienced as I began adding push ups to my workouts.

And yes, all of this can take place but ONLY when you do moves with this much fat blasting potential CORRECTLY.

Doing push ups – or any move for that matter – is more about quality than quantity.

30 poor push ups will not even come close to the toning, metabolism boosting benefits of just doing 10 awesome ones.

As always, you can double and even triple your results when you are following a full body resistance training program, the right amount of cardio and you revisit what you are eating.

Give push ups a try!

Try them the right way that is.

Toned arms and a tight tummy….No fancy equipment, no gym membership, no long hours of ridiculous cardio – just you and a few minutes of your day.

As you progress, be sure to challenge yourself to see if you can get at least 1 more rep out with good form. If you start on your knees or against a counter take note that as they become easier to change the position of your body or switch to regular push ups to keep your body challenged.

If you do not challenge your muscles, you will not get stronger, your metabolism will not get the boost it needs to burn more fat and you will have a difficult time getting results.

Tyler Explains Why You Are NOT A Failure

I took my son Tyler to get ice cream this afternoon.
I passed for my kettlebell workout was in the next 2 hours and I did not want to feel like crap…but I was still curious and wanted a taste…so I told him “If you cannot finish your ice cream, pass it up to me”

He was like…

When have you even known me to fail at eating ice cream!!!”

I was like…OMG, was this my child speaking to me. His expression was too cute and then I was like…wait a minute – why is the word FAIL even in his vocabulary!!!???

So I asked him if he knew what this word meant?

This is what he said…

Too often moms are so hard on themselves.

The before shot you see above was taken in July 2007. It is the only document I have of what I looked like before Fit Yummy Mummy. I refused to be in anymore photos! I cannot even begin to describe how unhappy I was!

The after was taken on 3/6/09… I am wearing my size 10 jeans! Woohoo! Big difference in my confidence levels!

Here are my thoughts about my transformation:

My life has taken a complete 180 degree turn in the last year! 2008 began like all the other years. I was finally going to get in shape and lose the fat! My weight had been slowly creeping up since the I got married 20 years ago, but it wasn’t until I had my last daughter in 1999 that I just couldn’t get control of my weight.

Fast forward to the beginning of 2008 and I was 220 lbs and was almost to big for my size 18W jeans. I was literally in the pit of despair.
